An Atarim alternative for capturing website feedback.

Atarim is the shiny new solution in the visual feedback market. Following the same formula as Pastel (and others before them) they offer a slick UI for allowing your team and clients to collaborate on website feedback. It's hard to knock an option that promotes our favourite paddle sport 🏓.

Unfortunately they lack a few critical features and hopefully your team has some 💰 to pay for it.

Easy to use

Leaving feedback should be simple: point, click, leave a note, done.

Let's take a look at the two biggest reasons to consider PageProofer over Atarim for your visual feedback tool.

1. Cross browser/device support

On the surface Atarim and PageProofer both look like tools that layer over your website to add some feedback and collaboration tools. If you dig a little under the surface though you have two very different solutions that differ in a very big way.

Atarim is loading your website, via a proxy, into Atarim.io. What you see is a copy of your website with some extra code injected in to provide the feedback and commenting tools. It only works when you are looking at your website through the Atarim window. You only have 3 common size options for viewing your website. Not everyone looks at a website at the same size, on the same device. The smallest screen can be less than 400 pixels and the largest can be over 3000 px, that's a huge size spectrum. Only having 3 sizes to work with is extremely limiting.

PageProofer works directly on your website. You add the little code snippet into your website and PageProofer is available on your website in any browser and on any device. That is exactly what you want when testing your website for browser and device compatibility. Not all browsers and devices render websites in the exact same way, that's where little bugs and inconsistencies pop up that your QA team is looking for. Your website might work perfectly in one browser but have fatal bugs and visual glitches that prevent users in another browser from having a good experience.

2. Price

At the end of the day Atarim and PageProofer are two similar visual feedback tools that any website agency would benefit from using. Aside from the technical differences explained above the biggest differentiator is the price. 15 users on Atarim's Business plan costs $260/month *. The similar Team plan for PageProofer is $89/month (and you get 5 extra users). Atarim costs almost 3X as much per month 😳
